The Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin
As part of the programme our tourists have a fascinating walking excursion in the Kremlin, what is the heart of our city and one of the oldest fortifications in Russia. There is also located Sobor Arkhangela Mikhaila – the Cathedral and architectural monument of the 17th century. Actually, the dust of Kozma Minin, who is a glorious person in Nizhny Novgorod, was buried there. You will also see other monuments related to The Second World War, etc.
In addition, you will see the monument of V.P. Chkalov, who is one of the most famous countrymen. From the Chkalov Stairs you can enjoy the view of another part of the city, that is beyond the river.

Nizhny Novgorod
Nizhny Novgorod was founded in 1221 at the confluence of two famous Russian rivers – Volga and Oka, by the Grand Duke George Vsevolodovich. Since the 7th of October in 1932 the city bore the name of the writer Maxim Gorky, however on the 22 of October in 1990 the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR decided to return the historical name – Nizhny Novgorod.
Our city is the capital of the Volga Federal District and of the Volga-Vyatsky economic region and the centre of all surrounding regions.
